After exhaustive research I just bought my Angler 22 VFX, and I couldn't be happier. None of the issues described on this site are apparent on my hull. If anything the boat has turned out to be more than what I expected (and this is a good thing)!!!! Added: September 28, 2007 |

Very interesting. I am possibly going to trade my TollyCraft for a 1990 Angler 22' W/A. After going through this site I will be very careful of this Angler, although it looks pretty solid. I do see a lot of folks seem to have no problems with the older ones. Added: September 8, 2007 |

Like I said I have owned 6 boats in the last 20 years all had rust around the cleats and small stress cracks here and there I never worried about either as long as the stress cracks were not in the sturctural parts of the boat.I own a 01 angler 204 wac I bought it with alot of hurricane damage the right gunnel was gone and it had been underwater but the hull itself was in very good condition. I was really shocked when I stumbled into this website. I have never seen anyone put such a concerted effort to destroy a Company's reputation. I guess that if I spent over $100K in a boat and it really had all those gremlins after just 6 months then I would be angry too, but this is bordering on obsessive vendetta. It is my impression that the boat has been somewhat misused and/or not properly maintained. Having said that, I've never seen cracks like these in any boat I've ever boarded (which is a lot). I had an Answer 18' for about ten years, which was a comparable brand to Angler (i.e. boats for cost conscious buyers with average but adequate fit and finish and features, unlike say, Pursuit, which sweats the details, but at a premium). I used the Answer for 10 years in the Caribbean, almost always in 4 to 6 feet seas at speeds averaging 20 to 25 knots (always on plane, and jumping and landing off waves), and after ten years, it only had a small web like crack in one of the rounded corners near the rear scupper. So maybe this particular Angler turned out to be a bit of a lemon. God only knows. Added: July 24, 2007 |

Purchased 2002 20' Angler Eagle as new. Had a few problems with items such as calibration of gas guage, Tach didn't work. Sent me new one. After numerous expense and time I finally gave up on dealer fixing problems. Fixed them myself. I have put this boat through hell and it is the best performing boat I've ever owner. 4 stroke yamaha now 5 yrs old and never a problem. Will not by new boat this year. Just going to re-engine. Wish they hadn't dropped this model. Very lite weight. 80 gal fuel tank gives me over 400 miles. Just came back from Florida Keys. 80% of boats I obseved were Anglers. Should say something. Just bought 2007 Ford Explored 4X$ LXT. $36,000 and its a lemon. Sometimes life is a b****. Added: July 13, 2007 |

You are an idiot. You're an idiot, oh and did I mention, you are an IDIOT. Every one of your problems are attributed to lack of maintenance, or just plain ole' operator error. Have you ever owned or even driven a boat before? Air pockets? There called air voids you dumb s*!t. Every boat has them along with stress cracks. This whole entire page simply proves your ignorance to boating in general. If you knew how to take care of a boat you would not have half the problems you have. Sounds like no matter what make boat you have, you cannot be pleased. Let me guess..... You spent more than you can afford, and now are trying to justify you getting out of your boat by claiming to the world, that it is a bad boat. I am the Service Manager for an Angler dealer in New York, and have personally driven every model they make, in all sorts of conditions. They are a reliable and very comfortable riding boat. When we do have legitimate issues with them, the personel at Angler are very easy to deal with, and never bark at the cost of a repair. Like every other boat dealer, we sell many other boat manufactures products. Angler is not our best brand of boats, but they are certainly not what you are describing. You need a few lessons in boat maintenance. Idiot! Added: June 28, 2007 |

Angler doesn't make antenna mounts. you will find those exact mounts on million dollar + yachts. You seem to fall into the user error category. Engines are supposed to be as close together as possible, this creates the most speed. Most boat owners aren't ass-hats though, and don't crank the wheel all the way to one side the F with the trim. Again, attributed to user error. Stress cracks can also be found on million dollar+ yachts. are they built bad too? attribute to user being a moron. It freezes in North Florida, so I assume it freezes north of here in S. GA, which explains your T-Top. Most of the tubes on the top are not open to the hull, including the one you have pictured. if it was, any wiring inside would be destroyed. Once again, user error. There is no lowest common denominator for stupid but so far you are the lowest I've ever found. Added: June 15, 2007 |
