Just an FYI about quality of gelcoats...Angler uses Valspar gelcoat (Same as Scout boats and some whalers and others of quality)...valspar is one of the best and most expensive gelcoats around. If there are any bubbles or cracks it is very rare...many boats use a much cheaper gelcoat ..it appears that is why angler has a higher re-sale value in all the bluebooks than many other boat manufacterers...I think the boat that the website owner got was a lemon..pure and simple....check out re-sale on angler....compare it to others....it is a midrange boat....not cheap...and not expensive like gradys.. check it out........ with due respect to nick this is one mans experience with angler and the company has been around a long time with thousands of satisfied customers...it is unfortunate that the boat was a lemon but I personally have owned 2 anglers over the last 15 years and have had no problems whatsoever....in other words I would do a little more research before condemning them. Even Grady White puts out a lemon now and then...and from what I have read angler replaced his boat with a 2005 29ft CC and he wasnt happy with that one either. May 14, 2005

I bought a new 29 angler in Sept 2004 and have had no major problems but all the small problems ad up. I have had lots of cracks in the jel coat and problems with the helm coming apart. I traded the boat off last week and you can say what you want but the resale sucks. The dealer showed me this site and also showed me where Florida Fish and Wildlife had to have all 26 of thier Anglers had the transom come apart. Angler did repair the transoms bu who wants to deal with it. May 15, 2005

i have a buddy who owned a 29 that was 4 months old he never ran the boat over cruise speed offshore and was meticulous about condition and care. after 4months of ownership it magically was time for the limited hull warranty to take effect do to the enormous weight of the 200 hpdi's that were cracking the transom and of delamination of almost every hatch not to mention stress cracks that would have made you think the boat was a 10 year SKA boat. he attempted to have the boat worked on by angler and even trailered it down there twice (the first time they were unable to do any work b/c the "boss" was not there that day. after he had scheduled to bring the boat in. the second time he brought it down there they gave him a big run around and ended up saying his problems were not covered. since then he had the boat repaired at a yard and sold it with the new owner very aware of the problems which cost him 10,000 off his already LOW NADA price just to get rid of it. he now has a 283 Grady. Great job on your site. I had considered a 29 with Verado's at a west coast Florida dealer that was willing to sell it at cost just to unload it.........Your experience helped me decide on another brand. THANKS ! Aug 03, 2005

I don't think that if a boat has some problems it means that the brand is bad. Angler makes 50 to 100 boats monthly, that's almost 1200 a year approx. Almost everything that is mass produced could have some problems (cars, boats, etc). I used to have a "Boston Whaler 21 center console" from 1995. That is a great company, they build good boats. After 3 years it suffered desslamination. What can I say? Sh*t happens. Mine wasn't changed for a new boat, it was only repaired. Yours was changed for a new one, that's great. My >brother bought an Angler 29 footer with twin Yamahas 225, 4 stroke in 2003 and I love that boat. I have made several trips with my brother to the British Virgin Islands and the boat is great, navigation is very solid and dry. Is a fast and secure boat (for those that don't know the Caribbean, seas here are tough to navigate "no lake"). That boat has almost 3 years and more than 500 hours and looks like new. Aug 25, 2005

You are wrong about, this company I have had 2 angler's in the past and no complains a 18ft a 22ft center console and right now I have a 26cc, I been a very happy costumer and never had no problems with the boat. I think every boat builder could have a problem with a boat but this company change your boat others wont do that. Plus you think a company will still on the market for over 30 years under the same owner and giving that warranty if they built!!Crap!! I don't think so. I have a friend that owns a 27 cc and that boat is great also and no complains. Look and compare Angler is a great buy. I think you are irresponsible putting a site like this about a good company with a great product. Aug 25, 2005
