This incident happened on Friday March 11th 2005 between 2:00 & 4:00 pm.
Anyone who has ever observed
a similar incident or who might offer an explanation of how this could happen
are invited to contact me. I could really use some help figuring out how this
could occur.
I took the boat to a nearby boat yard because I thought that I might try to sell it.
The boat had been in drydock through the winter, so I took a couple of my office assistants and decided to give it a good washing to remove any dust that had settled during the winter drydock. When we were finished we left for a couple of hours and then returned to make sure the for sale signs were still there before driving home for the evening.
When we returned we found that
there were 2 large holes in the aluminum supports that the t-top is mounted
upon.
A third bulge was found in another location but a hole had not formed. The
holes were not there only 2 hours before
we discovered them. At first we thought the hole could have been created by
a bullet being fired into the support but
there is no evidence of such an occurrence.
As you can see from the photographs,
It looks as though some explosive force created the holes which bulge outward,
as though they had been under tremendous pressure from within.

I have contacted several boat repairmen
whose experience with boats is much greater than mine to see if they could
offer an explanation.
So far no one can provide a reasonable explanation as to why this might occur.
I have reported the incident to the Georgia State Police so that it will be officially documented, and have requested that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation look at the incident to determine how it occurred.
I will post additional details of the incident as information becomes available.
